Pension Restaurant Dorfalm

We enjoyed a great meal, with generous portions and friendly service. Would recommend.

It’s tucked away off the main road, but well worth the detour for a traditional meal and warm hospitality. The staff were friendly, attentive, and accommodating from the moment we arrived. The food and service were good value, and parking was available within a 2-3 minute walk. The restaurant was clean, too, with spotless toilets on the same floor as the dining area. We started with Rinderbrühe soup topped with fresh chives. For the main, we had the Willderpfandl, wild meat with egg pasta on the side, served in a sizzling pan. The rich sauce and creamy texture went nicely with the poached pear and marmalade. Dessert was two sweet pastas, almost like pancakes, filled with blueberries and served warm with cold vanilla ice cream. That contrast made for a lovely, balanced end to the meal.

The mini golf was a lovely surprise for our 4-year-old son, and there was a wide range of toys for children. He stayed entertained while we had some good conversations. We also enjoyed the friendly staff, good service, and excellent food. There are plenty of local and Austrian dishes on the menu; we tried two and liked them. The portions were a good size, leaving just enough room for one of the lovely desserts, though choosing one was hard!

The owners are lovely people who make you feel welcome, and we had a great time. It’s a charming pension hotel in an excellent location for exploring the area. The place was very clean, and breakfast was very good and tasty. Thank you!
