Holunderhof

In winter, the ski lift is only meters away. Our room was large and clean, with a small kitchenette and basics like a coffee machine. The views are great, the staff are friendly and available, and breakfast was top notch. A very nice hotel.

We left feeling relaxed and restored, grateful for how kind everyone had been. Over our three nights at Hotel Holunderhof with my friend around New Year, the staff were warm, funny, easy to chat with, and so attentive to the little details. Whenever we needed something, they were there. The hotel is lovely, right beside a gondola for skiing, and the relaxation area is especially nice. Our room was spacious and bright, with a gorgeous mountain view. The amenities were wonderful, and the food was exquisite. Thank you Hotel Holunderhof! - Daisy & Zina

We had dinner at the restaurant and I loved everything they served. The staff there were friendly too. Breakfast was great, especially the freshly baked croissants and pastries, and they made eggs to order. When we realized the mortadella was pork and we don't eat it, the staff kindly offered chicken mortadella and prepared it the next day. The rooms were large, and the beds comfortable. Everyone was welcoming and keen to make us comfortable. There is a spa, but I didn't try it because I was short on time. I highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Lienz.

The setting is stunning, the hotel is beautiful, and both the food and service were great. Our room, though, was a problem. It was a family-style suite with windows between the bedrooms. They were frosted, but there was little privacy, and a light on in one room bothered everyone in the suite. I wouldn't recommend it for a group of friends travelling together.
