BEE GREEN Linz Bed Breakfast

The rooms were really clean and warm, but we weren’t keen on having only glass between the toilet and the room. Breakfast was okay, and I thought the coffee was really good. The location worked if you’re not planning to walk everywhere. Someone was there when we checked in, so I can’t comment on that.

The rooms were the main bright spot: clean, fairly modern, and with a coffee machine. Breakfast was average. The bread wasn’t fresh, though the coffee was good. We came for a work visit and arrived around midnight. Check-in took about two hours. The self-service kiosk was confusing and couldn’t find our booking. We had four rooms booked, but only one person managed to check in at first. Then came a long, frustrating series of phone calls with a contact person who never came in person. Some rooms we were assigned were already occupied, while others wouldn’t open. It was 2 a.m. before everyone had a room. The same thing had happened to a guest who arrived the day before us and another who came the day after. The location wasn’t great either, about 3 km from the city center in a dull, rather remote part of Linz. Do yourself a favor and spend a few euros more on somewhere that works.

The room was good for the price, and getting around was easy with a bus stop right outside, even though the hotel is a bit far from the city center. We came back at night to find the shower head broken. They couldn’t fix it or move us to another room right away. In an email, they offered free breakfast as a kind gesture, but when we got to the breakfast area, staff said we weren’t entitled to it. It’s a self-check-in hotel, but they replied to our emails very quickly, even in the evening.

The smartphone check-in worked perfectly, and I could open every door, including my room, on my phone without picking up a key card downstairs. The room was spacious, spotless and all new and modern. Breakfast was good too, with plenty to choose from and lots of organic and regional products. Parking is limited, but there’s usually a place on the street or paid parking at the nearby hospital. I had a great stay.
