The view was excellent, and the location was lovely. The lady there was very friendly.

We checked out today, and the older reviews may well have been accurate back then. The apartment now feels like it’s in a losing battle with wear. The furniture is worn, the beds have deep dips, the extractor hood kept its lights on around the clock, the chairs creaked, and both tables wobbled. The sauna looked like an old storage shed. A Dutch woman met us at the doorway of her home, with the door left ajar. She didn’t manage a tour or even a friendly word. The whole stay gave us the sense that the place has lost its soul and that the owners have lost interest. It’s a real shame. They’d be better off stopping as landlords. We’re going elsewhere next year.

The built-in zoo with the wild animals, Damian, Zoé, and Damian's brother, was magical! I’d happily come back every day. The house also reminded me a little of Rainer Winkler's villa, which I really liked. If I’m ever looking for somewhere to stay in Lofer, this is where I’d return.
