We had a warm, enjoyable stay at Bergkristall, and would consider it again for any alpine holiday. Mallnitz is a beautiful base for getting out into nature and adventure, and a gateway to Hohe Tauren National Park. The hotel is in a great spot in the village, close to the center and bus stops. It's a scenic walk from the bahnhof, with good connections and frequent service. This family-run place takes care of its guests and the little details. Dinner was especially good: the staff can accommodate food preferences, and each course was tasty, carefully made, and served with enthusiasm. We recommend telling them at breakfast if you'd like dinner and letting them know your preferences. After a day exploring the nearby mountains, the wellness amenities are a treat. The sauna was especially relaxing.

The family atmosphere came through in the service, and the food was amazing, all local and top quality. Our room was finally spacious, with lots of storage, excellent equipment, and a quiet, cozy feel. We loved our stay in the beautiful surroundings and will definitely come back.

The staff were incredibly kind and looked after everything we wished for. The hotel was modern and nicely renovated, very clean, and the room was friendly and comfortable. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and plentiful. The landscape is gorgeous, and even with the modern feel, you still feel close to nature. Thanks for every moment there. 😊 It was one of the best holidays of our lives.

The town's tourist service offers ranger tours and lots of hiking trails in summer. In winter, you can get to two ski resorts. The hotel itself sits on a quiet back road, about 900 m from the train station, so there's no loud traffic from the SkiBus Service or the main road. It's a lovingly renovated place with traditional style, run by very kind owners and helpful staff. Plenty of guests come back, and you can see why.
