The dinner was good, and it was the only thing that made this stay bearable. I booked two nights on Booking to relax, without realizing our room was in a separate building from the main one with the pool and spa. They didn't mention this, so how was I supposed to know? The house we stayed in had only rooms, no spa or relaxation facilities, and there were very loud kids, with a playground at the hotel. We asked to move to the main building with the restaurant, pools, and spa, since that's why we came. They could offer only one night, and the room available was dark and small, below two stars. I couldn't accept it, so we went back to the original second house, where all we could do was stay in our room. In winter, with 0 degrees outside, how are you meant to enjoy the spa, pool, and sauna when they're a five-minute walk through the village center? It's ridiculous. We ended up leaving after one night because of this. I wish it had gone differently, since I'd been looking forward to this hotel. We usually extend our stays, but this was the first time we had to cut our vacation short.

We loved it! The spa, room, and warm, friendly atmosphere made our stay perfect from start to finish. The food was outstanding too, and we'll definitely be back soon.

The views are stunning wherever you are, from the restaurant and bar to the rooftop pool, and even through the sauna's glass wall. Our room in the “second” house had a great view too, though it felt more like a small pension than a high-end hotel, with its furniture, doors, and small bathroom. The bed was comfortable, but I still think the room was overpriced. Getting to the hotel amenities meant walking along the street or taking a path behind the buildings. The weather was good, so that didn't bother us much. The amenities and location were great. Breakfast had a good selection, with fresh breads, a heavy-duty juicer, quality coffee machines, and both hot and cold food. Dinner was good as well, with 4-6 courses, ambitious dishes that mostly worked, and a nice wine selection. There were no vegan options.

On our whole ride along the Danube bike path, this was our favorite hotel. Beautiful views, a wonderful restaurant, and a great spa. We'll definitely come back!

We didn't stay at Hotel Schachner, but we did eat at its restaurant and left with a good impression. The meal was satisfying, with a nice range of dishes. The ice cream bar stood out most, with a fun choice of flavors and toppings that made it the most memorable part of dinner.
