Haus Zillertal am Achensee

The lake trail starts practically across the road, so we really enjoyed our morning walks. The house was very clean and had a stunning lake view, and the owners were so welcoming and ready to help with anything. It is a little removed from other places, though. Nearby, we found just one restaurant and a gas station.

We were able to use the private kitchen next door to make soup and breakfast, and also tried the 8 euro breakfast, which kept us full until lunch. It was a very affordable place to stay. Caroline, the owner, made sure we were comfortable. Haus Zillertal was warm and welcoming, with clean, tidy bedding and plenty of cozy blankets for winter. From our room we had a beautiful view over the lake, mountains, and sunshine.

The rooms are on the small side, but cozy, and the balcony view over the lake and mountains is priceless. The area has plenty to offer, so we plan to come back. The hosts were genuinely friendly and full of helpful tips, and made us feel right at home. We highly recommend Haus Zillertal.

The house is a little dated, so don't expect a five-star hotel, but the value for money is good. Cleanliness matters most to me, and everything was spotless. The beds were comfortable and we had what we needed. There's a bus stop right outside, a boat dock within easy walking distance, and parking directly in front of the house, as shown in the photos. Our balcony looked out over the lake and mountains. Breakfast is available to book there, though I didn't have it. The landlady was very friendly and easygoing.
