We found the location hard to beat for the price. The nearest shop is only 200 meters away, and the house is 500 meters from the center of Mayrhofen. It's also 850 meters from the Penken and Ahorn ski lifts, a decent morning walk to warm up. If you'd rather take the ski bus, the stop is 100 meters from the house. Local buses leave from there too, and after check-in you get a card for free rides to the Finkenberg, Rastkogel, and Eggalm ski areas, as well as the Hintertux Glacier. The house itself is a few decades old, which gives it character. Inside there's a 1950s photo showing the house when there was nothing around it. Our room was spacious and clean, and the kitchen was well equipped and tidy. The bathroom was clean and had a shower, no bathtub. Towels were replaced halfway through our weeklong stay. The owner was kind and helpful. She says her English isn't very good, but we had no trouble speaking with her in English. So the earlier comment that you can only communicate in German seems out of date.

Our hosts were friendly and genuinely helpful, and the apartment was spotless. We stayed six nights over the winter holidays in a roomy place with three bedrooms. The towels were changed after three days. Penkenbahn is about a 10-15 minute walk away. I'd happily recommend staying here.

We enjoyed sitting out on the lovely balcony. The apartment was spacious, clean, and fully equipped, and it's an easy walk to the center of Mayrhofen. The owner was very friendly and helpful.

The supermarket is right on the corner, and shops and restaurants are an easy walk away. Ahornben Penkenbaan is within walking distance too. It's a beautiful, large house in a good location.
