The guesthouse is a family home, not a five-star hotel, so it may not suit you if that's the experience you're after. For me, the owners' hospitality was outstanding, and the price for what you get was superb. It's far enough from the center to be quiet, but still only about 15 minutes away. I could sleep with the window open. If you're walking, the bus stop is a 10-minute walk and connects to all the important places. I also got a guest card with extra benefits, which I hadn't expected. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Even with the place fully booked, it never felt crowded, and we still had our privacy. We felt like we were on holiday with extended family: the children played with the hosts' daughter, and we could order bread, eggs, and milk for breakfast. The hosts were welcoming and helpful, too. Our spacious apartment had two bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom, and a kitchen. The balconies had breathtaking views at any time of day, and there was a secure, locked place for our bikes. It's far enough from the town center to avoid the noise, but close enough to reach everything on foot in about 10 minutes.

It's a nice place to stay and generally okay, though the pillows are worn out. The lifts are quite far away, so keep in mind you'll need to get storage for your equipment.

The whole family were so friendly and ready to help. They can deliver bread and you can order eggs and milk from them. We had a really relaxing week and would love to return. Thanks, Margit, for the great hiking and restaurant tips. It's a lovely holiday apartment on the edge of Mayrhofen, with the town center and mountain lifts a short walk away.

The balcony and mountain views were our favorite part. The apartment was clean, modern, and had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. The Eberl family were very friendly and helpful, and we felt right at home at the Nieslerhof holiday apartment. We'd love to return. See you soon, and best wishes from Thuringia.
