We wouldn’t cycle up to the inn again because it sits at such a high altitude, though getting there by car or motorcycle is no problem. At the end of the season, we were the only guests, so dinner wasn’t available. When we couldn’t find food at the neighboring hotel, they served us delicious bratwurst and rolls, which we really appreciated. Breakfast the next morning was generous and tasty. It’s a well-run place with friendly, helpful hosts.

The climb on the last stretch was long and steep, so it felt a bit tough with our backpacks. Still, it should be manageable for any hiker. We got a very friendly welcome, and the room was clean and tidy. The balcony was beautiful, with a particularly lovely view. Breakfast was a small buffet, but delicious and plenty for us. I’d recommend it, top notch.

The lake view is fantastic, though the guesthouse sits a little away from the village, so you’ll need to be comfortable walking or have a car. It’s a cozy, family-run place with really nice hosts. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, especially the Hungarian goulash with homemade dumplings and fresh salad.

We stayed at Lake Millstatt in June 2019 after booking the Pension Oasis. The view was lovely, but the rest of the stay left us very disappointed. The bed was the worst we’ve ever slept in, and breakfast was just pre-baked rolls with cold coffee.
