Schusterhof

We came back for a second stay and loved the cozy little cabin set in an old Walser barn. It had everything we needed, and the family was very welcoming, including to our dog. The bus stop and supermarket are only a two-minute walk away. With buses every 10 minutes and rides included with the Walser Card, we left the car parked.

The pricing is hard to make sense of. Kuhgehren and Heuberg are very different in size, room count, and furnishings, yet cost the same. At this price, there are also better equipped places elsewhere in the valley, some with a sauna. Still, the accommodation is rustic and cozy, the hosts are friendly, the apartments have everything you need, and there’s a ski room. The bus stop is right across the street. I’d recommend staying here, though the price differences are difficult to understand.

We highly recommend the Schusterhof in Mittelberg. The owners are very friendly, and the setting in Kleinwalsertal is hard to beat. It’s a lovingly renovated traditional old house, spotlessly clean, and our fully furnished apartment had everything we needed. A lovely place to stay at a very reasonable price.

We were there as a couple in June 2024, using it as a base for tours. The rooms were spacious and had all the essentials, including a dishwasher, utensils, shower, and toilet. Everything was great.
