Hotel Wieser

The service team were friendly and helped with our individual needs, including giving us directions and suggestions for things to do. In summer, we also made great use of the free Summer Card, with its free lift rides, admissions, and even an entrance ticket to Großglockner. My parents loved the rooms, dinner, and wellness area. The food was awesome, natural, and top quality; our room had a great view and was furnished neatly and comfortably. It’s a cosy place, and we had a great time. We’d gladly return if we get the chance to visit Mittersill again.

The sauna and spa weren’t available, though they were advertised. Still, the hotel was very clean, with an updated interior and a recently remodeled bathroom. It has an old traditional exterior and a small basement pool. The beds had flannel sheets. Nothing was wrong with the place, but I enjoyed other hotels a lot more.

My husband, two friends, and I stayed three nights, and the guest service was very unpleasant. The hotel is far too expensive for its quality and service. We all understood from the confirmation email that half-board was included. When we mentioned this at check-in, the receptionist didn’t explain that only breakfast was included. Instead, she added dinner to our stay without telling us the price. At checkout we were surprised to be charged extra for dinners that weren’t good, very fatty and salty, and made from leftovers from the day before. We tried to discuss a fair solution with the receptionist, but the owner came over and shouted that we were stupid for misunderstanding the email and weren’t allowed to “waste” the receptionist’s time. One of our friends was pregnant, but that didn’t stop her shouting at her too. After ten minutes of this, we gave up. It was awful. The waitress also asked my husband to finish a “home-made” dessert while clearing the plates. He declined because it was very fatty and not good, and she called him “a girl.” The receptionist had added extra services without asking us, and the owner shouted at us. That seems to be how guests are treated here.

Natascha Wieser and her family really do their best for hotel guests. The place is clean and nice, the food is good, and the service was absolutely perfect. They even kept the hotel bar open until 4 a.m. just because we wanted a drink.
