Lackner Seehotel

The staff made us feel at home, and the rooms, sauna, and dock looking out over beautiful Mondsee all added to a great visit. We booked two nights at fairly short notice, then stayed a third because we enjoyed it so much. With roughly 17 rooms, Seehotel Lackner can focus on excellent service, value, and culinary treats for guests who want the whole package in Austria. We’d highly recommend staying here, and the Halb Pension, which includes excellent breakfast and dinner. Looking forward to visiting again.

We drove all the way from Munich for the lunch reservation my wife had arranged for 22Dec 2025. They offered a table for four by email, and we confirmed by replying. At the appointed time, the restaurant was closed. The man at the door said there must have been a mistake on our part and seemed irritated that we were there. He wasn’t pleasant about it either. Later, in the same email chain, they said they never got our confirmation, though it was plainly there. In response to your reply: the email chain clearly shows I accepted your offer of a table for four with those details. The whole restaurant was closed when I arrived, so there’s clearly more to the story than has been shared. Either way, the consistent negative feedback about this establishment is that its service leaves a lot to be desired.

Dinner was the biggest surprise. We weren’t sure what to expect from the dinner plan, but every meal was incredible, and we had no reason to eat elsewhere. The tables had amazing views too, and breakfast was great. The hotel sits right on the water, so swimming and paddleboarding were easy. We had lovely views of the lake and mountains from our balcony, and could walk easily to both the expanded beach area and the town. The rooms were wonderful, and the team was warm and friendly, with a real family atmosphere. We loved it there and highly recommend it!

We spent Valentine’s weekend at Seehotel Lackner, and it turned out to be a great choice. The staff were kind and helpful, parking in front was ample, and our room was clean and spacious. We even got a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite, which was a lovely surprise. The restaurant is a little pricier, but the local food is high quality and delicious, so the cost felt worth it. There’s a private “beach” that must be lovely in summer, and saunas on the top floor. I’d recommend a couple of nights here, trying some local wine and food.
