Alpensporthotel Mutterberg

The food and rooms were good, and we really liked the pool facilities during our five-day workshop. Most of the hotel staff, including the receptionists and other waiters, were friendly, polite, and considerate. One waiter treated those of us from different ethnic backgrounds rudely, though. Just as we were about to sit at another table, he shouted at us in front of everyone. When a friend put a napkin on her lap, he later mocked her while collecting it, asking if she planned to steal it. I hope he gets a warning. That one person's behavior changed how I felt about the whole hotel, and I hope the issue gets sorted out. Edit: My teammates told me the waiter's name was Frank. He looked a bit older and wore black-framed glasses. I'm attaching some pictures of the lovely food and the jacuzzi with its stunning view. Thank you!

The glacier views and the little jacuzzi with its killer mountain outlook were the highlights for me. The food tasted great and was presented so beautifully it looked ready for a cooking show. The rooms were clean and there were wellness options. It felt like a four-star hotel doing what you'd expect, maybe the standard for ski spots around here. I was there in Februaty for a research seminar with 42 colleagues. We spent hours going over findings and building team spirit, with the occasional look at Stubaier Gletscher. It was a good way to get the brain working while pretending the views were the main reason for being there. Motivation boosted. The layout is a bit of a maze, which isn't ideal when you're late for a session and carrying coffee and notes. Still, getting lost can be fun. Most of the staff were pleasant and welcoming. One person seemed determined to be rude to anyone born more than 100 km away. Some of us spoke enough German to order food and drinks, but he treated foreigners as if we'd asked him to solve quantum physics. That's too much for a four-star place, or any service job. Everyone else more than made up for it. For skiing, the location is spot on, with the cable car station nearby and a ski school and rental facilities up the mountain. There are slopes for all levels, from first timers to people showing off GoPro footage. Stay on the trails, though. A day after we left, a father and son went off-piste looking for more adventure, and tragically the father didn't make it back. A sobering reminder that the mountain is beautiful but demands respect. I'd return for the glacier views and jacuzzi. The maze-like halls and that grumpy staff member would make for a story, too. What business trip doesn't need one?

We stopped in for a late lunch. The food was great, and the service was superb.
