The Dolomites views are calm and quietly stunning, and Der Oswalderhof has a cozy, relaxed charm. It’s family-run and warm, with Victoria owning both the hotel and the dairy farm next door, so cows are your neighbors, including Moofoosa, one unforgettable bull. Honestly, iconic. After a day in the mountains, the home-cooked food is just what you want: comforting and done right, without any fuss. 10/10. I’d move in, adopt Moofoosa, and never leave.

This is my fifth or sixth stay in Obertilliach, and I’ll definitely come back. It’s a good value place with a friendly family feel, large quiet rooms, and a nice breakfast. The half board dinners were perfect examples of simple local food.

Obertilliach is such a friendly, close-knit place, where guests, locals, and hosts are warm and sociable with one another. Visitors often get the chance to watch traditional crafts, and I’ve heard that cheese-making demonstrations, offered in cooperation with the Almhotel family Scherer, will fill up quickly. That’s a good thing. Today I saw their daughter Vanessa with a cheerful group at the ice cream parlor in Sillian. Everything there is still handmade, with regional products on the menu and exquisite wines being served. Guests say they love what they do. That can only be in Obertilliach. I wholeheartedly recommend the Oswalderhof. Have a wonderful holiday, and I wish the hosts many sunny, cheerful guests.

We felt completely at ease right away at the Oswalderhof. The Obererlacher family clearly put a lot of passion into what they do, and the welcoming atmosphere shows it. The food was absolutely delicious, and we were truly spoiled. We had a wonderful holiday and highly recommend it.
