A great base for running and triathlon, with the lake about a 15-minute walk away. The gym has all the equipment, and there’s a bike wash too. Food is good enough, and the staff are super friendly. Their politeness is on another level.

The location gives you easy access to both the lake and the lifts for the southern piste, and rooms facing the right way have a great lake view. I visited in peak season in spring 2021, and although it was expensive, everything that mattered was in order: the room was clean and tidy, the B&B service was provided, and sports equipment was kept safely.

The staff are attentive, and the atmosphere is friendly. Rooms are spacious enough for five people without feeling crowded, with a nice toilet and bathroom. The sports grounds and halls are well equipped.

Without a car, the location feels far away, and there are no restaurants nearby. As a foreign tourist, I found it confusing to locate reception, and it didn’t feel like arriving somewhere to stay. The breakfast instructions weren’t clear, and when I asked about them, staff seemed to get annoyed easily, very Austrian. If you’re an athlete living in Austria, you might find the place okay.

I was here with school and had a great time. There are loads of sports options, the rooms are great, and the food is good. Hallstätter lake is just a few hundred meters away, and it’s easy to visit Hallstatt too.
