Holzleiten

The room was very clean and nicely decorated, with a beautiful view, and the wellness area had a lot to offer. There are different treatments and spaces to relax, work out, have tea and chat, plus several saunas. But the standout for me was the food, especially the five-course dinner and breakfast buffet. It’s without a doubt the best breakfast buffet I’ve ever seen. We had a wonderful wellness weekend at Holzleiten hotel, with outstanding service. I can only recommend it for a relaxing, delicious stay.

The spa has enough variety to fill an entire rainy day, while its design and layout still make it feel cozy. I was impressed by the hotel’s commitment to organic food, from the breakfast buffet right through to the whiskey bar. It’s all organic and really tasty. A superb hotel and spa experience, and I’d absolutely recommend it.

The location is top-notch, and the spa, pools and facilities are really nice, with a clean, modern design. The food was just okay, though. Breakfast had a limited choice of vegetables, with the same tomatoes, mushrooms and red peppers every day. Dinner quality was average, the meat often wasn’t cooked properly, there was a lot of cream, and the vegan options weren’t appealing or tasty. The desserts were too sweet and heavy; healthier raw sweets would have been nice. Restaurant service was unfriendly, especially at breakfast, though it was better at dinner.

The hotel delivered what it promised, and the spa and other facilities were well kept and managed. There was an issue with the sofa bed on our first night, but the staff handled it well and made us comfortable. Special thanks to the Wilhelm family and staff for making our stay pleasant, and to Alex for the classes, rituals and hike-sled event he led so beautifully. I left rejuvenated.
