Payerbach Apartments

We had originally booked Landhaus Blauer Spatz, but Storm Boris and an electrical problem meant we were moved to Payerbach Apartments the day before arrival. We were told the place would be of an equivalent standard. When we got there, though, the state of the apartment was a shock. It needs a full renovation, apart from the bathroom, and a deep clean. The furniture was a jumble of styles and in varying stages of decay. There was a used, empty coffee glass by the entrance, the outdoor furniture looked long uncleaned, and a broken bottle was left on the veranda. We asked the cleaner to deal with it, but they only picked up the biggest piece, leaving at least two other bits of glass plainly visible. It gave us the impression the owners didn't care about the apartment. The photos make it look new, but they must be very old. It's also near the road to the station, where local youths seem to practice their future pizza delivery runs, so bring earplugs. We won't take up the offer of a discount for a future visit. In response to the owners: they did offer a postponement, but we were already on our way to Reichenau, so that wasn't practical after being notified just a day before arrival. The exact message we received was: "Dear Paul Additionally I would like to offer you the following, a voucher of EUR200,- for your next stay with us, do not understand me wrong Payerbach Apartments is beautiful but it does not have a sauna and I want you to be happy with the chanage". There was no mention at all of the property being "a simpler standard" or an actual discount. That is pure fiction. The owners' "story" doesn't make sense either. If they had told us it was a lower standard and offered an actual refund, I might have declined the apartment and looked for somewhere else. At the very least, I would have accepted a refund for an inferior property.

A warm, cozy apartment for a relaxing Payerbach getaway. It feels like a lot of care and thought went into the place, so it deserves better reviews!

We've had another lovely stay at Payerbach Apartments. We're very satisfied with the accommodation, its location, and the nature around it, and have nothing to complain about. Everything feels just right, and we'd be happy to visit these lovely apartments again :-)
