The setting around the hotel is the prettiest part of Achensee, and the food was better than at many fine dining restaurants in Munich. Service was high-level. We chose the coolest room in the new building. It was expensive, but very nice, clean, and thoughtfully laid out. The spa was mostly empty, with several saunas at 60, 75, and 90, two advanced pools, and rest rooms. We’re thinking about visiting the hotel in summer.

The location is stunning, and the food was really great. We stayed six nights in August and had a fabulous time. The staff were nice and friendly. Our room felt a little dated, though the beautiful spa and pool area more than made up for it. If you like walking, cycling, or activities on the lake, it’s a must. Loved it 💞 and hope to come back.

The meals were excellent, especially the dinners, with a changing three-course menu each night and fresh, high-quality ingredients. Breakfast was good too. We spent four nights here in January 2025 and stayed in the Relax Suite, which was very clean, spacious, modern, and had a lovely view. The spa and both pools were perfect, with warm, pleasant water. Swimming in the ground floor pool felt magical. Igor and Alina were especially kind and professional, and the family who owns and manages the hotel, along with the whole staff, consistently showed high-end hospitality. I highly recommend the Wagnerhof and hope to return soon 🙏🏽

The booking process left me disappointed and wondering about a bit of ’bait and switch’. The website form asked for a room for one person on a specified date, but I couldn’t book directly and had to use an awkward interface. The reply showed a price 140 Euros above the one listed on the site. It took a lot of back and forth to work out why. Apparently the price isn’t necessarily correct even after you fill out the form. I found that extremely misleading, and spent far too much time trying to understand what was happening. Buyer, beware! It looked like a lovely place, but I decided not to book.

Just a WOW! There’s a great SPA with an outside pool, cows ringing their bells around you, and stunning mountains behind it all. Great place and venue.
