Seehaus Jamek

The room itself is great, and the lawn and bathing platform are right outside, beside Lake Wörthersee. But the furnishings are very old, and the rooms really need modernizing. The plumbing is a serious concern. At first, brown sludge came out of the tap. Even after the water ran clear, it still smelled and tasted of rust and metal. This needs urgent attention.

We were cycling through and stopped for the night. After arriving hot and sweaty, we could cool down straight away in Lake Wörthersee. The room was basic, clean, and just right for one night. Too bad breakfast isn’t offered. June 15, 2025

We’ve been home for a week now, and Seehaus Jamek left us with a very good impression. The accommodation is a little dated, but it had everything we needed. We were greeted warmly and given a thorough introduction to the rooms and area. The lake view was perfect, and we could use the swimming pool and sauna at no extra cost. There’s a huge lawn with loungers, plus a welcoming terrace where it was easy to chat with the friendly other holidaymakers. The minibar was generously replenished with non-alcoholic drinks for free, fresh towels came daily, and housekeeping did a thorough job. During our 12-day stay, the bed linen was changed once at no charge. The package also covered tourist tax, final cleaning, and the Wörthersee Card. There was plenty of parking outside the house or nearby. It’s about a five-minute walk to the center of Pörtschach. If we come back to Pörtschach, Seehaus Jamek will be high on our list. The private beach is a real plus, and the beds are very comfortable. The room itself feels quite old, and the sofa is badly worn and musty. The toilet fan is clogged and smells awful. It wouldn’t take a full renovation to improve things. Replacing the sofa, adding a cover, and cleaning the fan filter would already make the stay much better.
