There’s a guest room with table games, a TV and tables for several groups, and the food is tasty. Prices are reasonable too. The hotel has a lovely old-fashioned charm, with wood, carpets, curtains and furniture that make it feel cozy and inviting. It’s also conveniently located by a bus stop, within walking distance of a supermarket and the cross-country ski trail. I’ve seen people complain that it’s old, but come on, look at the photos before booking. If you don’t like what you see, don’t book it 😀

The food was cold unless you got there right when the doors opened. There wasn’t much choice, and it was aimed at meat eaters, with no real options for vegetarians. Most of the staff were extremely unhelpful, downright rude and nasty. When I raised the many issues, I was told I had a problem. The hotel is outdated, with dirty carpets throughout and a smelly, dirty toilet. I was told there was no heating because it was summer, though I did get extra blankets when I asked, so well done for that. The chef was the only good thing about the place, a truly wonderful man who was very helpful despite not speaking any English. The views are something else, but that’s nature’s doing and has nothing to do with the hotel. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Avoid it unless you want to be verbally abused in German by staff just because you complain, and disappointed.

The food was very good, and the buffet changed every day. The only weak point was service. We got the feeling there weren’t enough staff, since we often had to wait a long time to be served. Still, it’s a very nice place to stay, in a great location with a perfect view of the Dachstein massif.

The chef was kind and asked us what we thought every day. The dishes were super! The rooms are retro style, but good enough. We’ll definitely be back 😃
