Hotel Rauriserhof

The friendly staff and welcoming, low-key atmosphere made this a lovely stay. The views and facilities were great too, especially the pools and outdoor sauna. We’d be keen to come back and would recommend it. A few useful things we found: we had no trouble getting tap water with meals, and plenty of other tables did too. There’s a good alcohol-free selection as well as lots of alcoholic options. We hired a heated locker by the gondola for the ski area for about 50 euros for the week. That let us enjoy a 10-15 minute walk through the village each day without carrying all our gear, and it worked really well. It was also a perfect place for my partner to learn to ski. Karl Maier ski school was great, and even though the resort is small, it worked really well for my first time skiing solo.

We’ve stayed at this hotel in both summer and winter, and loved both visits. Walking in the mountains is lovely in summer, and skiing is great in winter, with a nice ski area and lovely huts for lunch. The hotel works really well for kids. Ours are 1, 4, and 6, and they also loved the recently renovated playroom, swimming pool, and tennis courts. The food is amazing. Dinner each evening is a 4 or 5 course menu that I’d rate at Gault Millau level. The same family has run the hotel for decades, which gives it the warm feeling you want when you’re away from home. If you’re still unsure about booking this beautiful hotel, look no further!

We went for the outdoor and indoor tennis facilities and private coaching, and the Rauriserhof delivered on all of it. The room was beautiful and clean, with a comfortable living room and a balcony looking over the mountains and tennis courts. Our two boys had their own twin room, and the bathroom was spacious, with double sinks and a nice shower. The beds stood out most of all. We’ve never slept so well in a hotel! On colder days, the indoor pool was lovely, and the outdoor one, with sunbeds, had gorgeous mountain scenery around it. Our half-board package included a breakfast with lots of choices, an afternoon buffet of sweet and savoury snacks, and delicious dinners with vegetarian, fish, or meat options. We hadn’t expected a kids’ buffet, and our 11-year-old loved it. He’s a picky eater, but found something he liked every night. Staff throughout the hotel were attentive, friendly, and ready to help. We were really pleased with our tennis coach Robert. We all felt comfortable with him and saw real improvement after the private lessons. Thanks to the Rauriserhof for making our stay special, and special thanks to Frau Gstrein, who answered all our questions and made booking easy. We can highly recommend this hotel!
