Hotel Kendler

The hotel was lovely, but I was really disappointed by the room I got. I'd paid for a double room with a balcony, but mine was on the ground floor, had a tiny bathroom, and the balcony couldn't be used because of snow. My family booked the same room type and got a much bigger room upstairs, with a proper balcony and a bathroom at least twice the size. I was told my room met the booking requirements, but none of the online photos showed a room like mine. They only showed the larger, superior room, so the booking felt misleading and like false advertising.

This was our fourth visit in four years, and I can only recommend the place. The food is excellent, the rooms are clean, and the staff are very friendly. They remember the guests, even their favourite drinks and room numbers. Respect! It's also well located, close to Saalbach's town centre and all the ski lifts.

The suites are comfortable and nicely decorated, and we had a great stay. I did miss some basic things in the room, like a fridge, kettle, tea and coffee, glasses and an iron. The hotel is beautiful, with great food, friendly staff, a wonderful spa and ski lifts close by. We'll be back :)

We just got home from a week's ski trip. The hotel team made the place feel special, and Peter, our waiter, deserves a mention. He's so friendly and gives service above and beyond. The location is great for skiing, a short walk from Saalbach's lifts. The spa, pools and gym were fantastic, though it was a shame we couldn't book a massage because all the appointments were taken. Dinner was the standout. The food was fantastic, with excellent presentation and flavour. Breakfast had everything you could want. The ski boot room has a heated locker for each room, so our boots were warm in the morning. Our room was clean and tidy, okay but not luxurious. The bedding and pillows could be better. There was no kettle, coffee machine or minibar. The bathroom was okay, but the towels were small, very thin and past their best. For a 4*+ hotel, I'd also have expected conditioner or body cream. We were on the 5th floor, overlooking a table dancing bar. Most nights, people leaving woke us up. The bar stays open until 04:30. It's a shame this kind of place is part of the building. Still, what a fantastic hotel, with 5* facilities and a great ski location.
