B&B Hotel Salzburg-Nord

The room felt clean, modern and almost new, and the staff were courteous. The hotel is also well connected by bus. One problem came when a group of teenagers were drinking and behaving abusively in the lift, blocking us from reaching reception for at least 15 minutes. Nobody was there to keep order. They spilled alcohol in the lift, and when we finally got through, it reeked of booze.

This was a difficult incident in the middle of an otherwise beautiful trip, and I hope sharing it helps travelers with special requirements feel better supported. On my last day at B&B Hotel Salzburg-Nord, a nutrition product I depend on, kept in a sealed sterilized system, burst unexpectedly in the heat without refrigeration, possibly because it fermented. It stained the ceiling. I couldn't clean it because it was hard to reach and I was hurrying to catch a train with heavy bags. The hotel later charged me €340, €200 for cleaning and €140 for repainting, and blacklisted the credit card used for the booking. I understand the hotel needs to maintain its property, but I was surprised by the lack of flexibility and empathy. Disclosing special needs can be difficult. The hotel presents itself as inclusive and welcoming to disabled guests, and I hope it keeps improving by recognizing different needs, including ones that aren't visible mobility issues.

The room was fine, with good design, and the location worked well. It's away from the city center bustle, but the bus stop is right outside and the ride in takes about 20 minutes. Still, I wouldn't rush to book here again. I arrived at 1.30pm on 27th Dec hoping to leave my luggage, but was told there was already too much luggage to store. The only option they offered was paying another €25 for early check-in, an hour and a half ahead of time. There was no hospitality or alternative. The room was already ready, so it felt like another way to squeeze a little more money from visitors. Honestly, I got better hospitality in Vienna.

Reception staff were kind, helpful and friendly, and the overall cleanliness was satisfactory. The wifi was okay as well. It's convenient for getting to both the city center and the airport, about 15 minutes by bus. Fine for a short visit or if you don't plan to spend much time in the room.
