Cocoon Salzburg

We arrived quite late, but the reception staff were very accommodating, and housekeeping was excellent. The cafe by reception has a cozy, relaxing feel, and the station is only a 2-3 minute walk away. We stayed for two nights in early February and found the atmosphere excellent and the staff very friendly. Good value for what we paid, and I’d recommend it.

The whole hotel was spotlessly clean, and the beds were so comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, and the staff were lovely. We had a great stay and will happily recommend the place and come back. Thank you!

The location was handy, about a 5 minute walk from the train station, bus stop, SPAR supermarket, Macdonalds, and other restaurants. Breakfast was only fair, with limited choice, though I liked the caprese salad and traditional cookies. There were a few vegetarian options. The room was very small, barely enough space to open luggage, and we paid double what the same day online rate later showed. It’s a basic budget hotel. There was no housekeeping unless requested a day ahead, no luggage stand, no basic toiletries kit, and no minibar or fridge. A locker was provided. The location is convenient if you want to stay close to the main station without needing another bus or taxi, especially with several bags. Be aware, though, that the station area can be challenging at night, so I’d avoid arriving after dark. The rooms are tiny, so check the size before booking. There’s no tea, coffee, kettle, or fridge, which is about what you’d expect from a budget hotel. My bigger concern was privacy. Twice, housekeeping opened our door in the morning while my wife and I were getting ready to go out. The first time, the housekeeper called once almost as a formality but still opened the door. The second time, they saw me in my boxers, quickly apologized, and closed it. What if we hadn’t been dressed? When I told the front desk, they seemed aloof and offered me a coffee as compensation.
