Evido Hotel

I wouldn't recommend this hotel. We arrived at 10pm to find the door locked and no receptionist. I was freezing outside with my friend until a guest came out and we got inside. There's no elevator. I knocked on the only room by the entrance, and a man told us reception staff had left at 8pm. He called the manager, who said they would refund us in full and told us to find somewhere else. I begged to stay because it was my first time in the area and I didn't know where to go, but the manager said there was nothing else they could do besides refund us. As a hotel manager or worker, I think the first thing should be looking after guests and giving tourists good service, so they can leave a nice review or make a nice TikTok. Instead, the manager texted my friend threatening legal action over the one-star review. It's crazy. We're the ones who should take action, but we're peaceful people. I'm trying to let it go.

The room smelled terrible. We had to open the windows even though it was -2°c outside. Please stop spraying the rooms with this, it was impossible to breathe.

The train station is right across the road, and the city center is walkable from here. We stayed one night with my girlfriend and our two dogs. The room was reasonably clean, and check-in went fine, though the receptionist's English was broken and we worked it out. Breakfast was basic but decent for the low price. This is a good choice for a cheap night in Salzburg if you're not too demanding. It reminded me of my high school dorm 😁, and seems especially suited to young people. There's paid parking in the yard for 20€/night, but I'd suggest the underground parking at the nearby train station, which I think is cheaper and safer. There's also a has station right in front, so you can get beer 24/7 🍻😆.

I wouldn't recommend this apartment. It slept six, but each day one person had no hot shower water, and eventually got ill. The toilet seats were loose and shifted when used; we reported it, but they weren't repaired during our four days there. The doors squeaked, and there was only one set of actual keys for six people who sometimes went out separately. I also didn't feel safe without bolts on the inside of the doors. The cabinet door above the fridge fell off when we opened it, and the fan made a dangerous noise when switched on. Despite being called a hotel, there was no hairdryer.
