The guest house sits in a lovely spot in the foothills of the Alps, which is its biggest draw. The hosts communicated well and were flexible. There are stairs, but that was fine for me. I left early because the laundry detergent smell was too strong for me. One travel-sized shampoo wasn’t quite enough, either. Still, I recommend this lovely guest house.

The family who run this guesthouse are lovely and welcoming, and the house has a charming traditional feel with good-sized rooms. It feels like the countryside even though it’s quite close to the city centre. A bus stop is a couple of minutes’ walk away, with buses about every 15 minutes for most of the day. The ride into the city takes around 17 minutes. I’ve stayed here twice, six years apart, and both visits were great. We were lucky to get rooms with beautiful mountain views at the regular price. Good value for money, and thanks to the owners for making both stays special.

The owners clearly put a lot of care into this place. It feels homey and has a lovely vintage style. Breakfast had a nice mix of sweet and savoury food, and kept us going while we explored Salzburg. We didn’t eat again until almost 3 pm 😂

Good location with access to public transport. There’s one restaurant nearby, and you’ll need to reserve well in advance. No breakfast on Sundays.
