Sheraton Grand Salzburg

We were upgraded to a lovely top-floor suite, which worked perfectly for our family trip to Salzburg just before Christmas. The executive lounge is pleasant, though the food selection is limited. It was still handy when we didn’t feel like going out. The lobby and breakfast were both very nice, and the staff were especially helpful. The hotel sits behind Mirabell Palace, with an easy walk into the old town. The station is also close, and there’s a nearby bus stop for airport trips.

The hotel’s spot suited us well. It’s beside Mirabell Park and Palace, and the walk along the Salzach River and over the pedestrian bridge into Old Town was pleasant. When we didn’t want to walk, frequent buses stopped less than a block away. Banks, shops, and pharmacies were convenient too. I’d emailed months before arriving to ask about a deep-cleaned room because my wife has asthma. Maciej Grajzer replied quickly and said it could be arranged. At check-in, things were efficient and the staff were friendly and helpful, including with directions and speedy laundry. We got an upgraded room with a welcome treat, though I can’t say what the standard rooms are like. Ours was spacious, with a lovely bathroom, lots of closet space, a sitting area, and a view of Mirabell Park. It was very clean, and my wife had no breathing problems. Thanks, Maciej! We arrived late and tired after several weeks of travel, so went straight to the executive lounge. I’d seen reviews saying it had gone downhill and expected little, but it was quiet and enjoyable, with cold beer, good food, and great staff. Breakfast in the dining room was also outstanding, with plenty of hot and cold options and a nice park view. I’d expected a nice stay at the Sheraton Grand in Salzburg, but it turned out great. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

For a business trip, this hotel turned out to be a lovely surprise. Our luggage was already there before we arrived, and it was all handled well. The rooms were cozy, clean, and comfortable, while the place itself felt quiet and safe. Breakfast was generous, with everything we needed. The location made it easy to walk to the sights, and the friendly staff were always happy to help. I’d happily recommend it.

The bar was pleasant, and I enjoyed the Mirabelle restaurant’s quality local food. My room suited me well, with a comfortable, practical bathroom. It was easy to reach the parking lot by elevator from the rooms, and the housekeeping team responded quickly to my requests. The Sheraton Grand Salzburg is well placed for the old town and its beautiful sights. The internet connection was difficult, though, and some front desk staff were less welcoming than the housekeeping, restaurant, and bar staff.
