We won’t be coming back. The apartment was small, with dirty ventilation and mold in the shower. The two-door setup was awkward too, since I was constantly looking for a key just to take out the trash or go into the yard. Having to pay extra for washing and drying felt very inconsiderate. How are guests meant to do their laundry? For €1800 for 12 nights, you’d think you could bring two loads of laundry. The owners came across as counting every penny at the expense of hospitality.

In summer, this is a great base for mountain biking, hut-to-hut hiking, mountaineering, and climbing. There’s climbing nearby, too. The family-run apartments are beautiful and in a quiet location between the Hochzeiger and Pitztal Glacier/Riffelsee ski areas, with cross-country ski trails and a toboggan run right outside.
