My boyfriend, our three-month-old baby, and I woke up to the smell of croissants baking and the cheerful sounds of the street. The colorful decor worked so well together and made the room feel warm and cozy. I’ve rarely stayed somewhere in Europe as clean as this. The bathroom was incredibly spotless, everything wiped down perfectly, and the fresh-smelling, bright white towels felt so comforting. I usually don’t use hotel towels, but I made an exception here. I’d absolutely recommend the place and would stay again if we find ourselves in St. Wolfgang. Fingers crossed we do! :)

We visited in winter, during the off season, when most shops were closed and reception shut early, around 4 pm. For anyone visiting the Wolfgang area in the off season, I’d suggest spending the night in another city. The hotel is newly furnished, close to the center, has a lovely reception, and there’s an elevator. As a family of four, we booked a two-bedroom suite but found the open shower poorly suited to a group: the see-through curtain didn’t cover the whole area. The heating was also uneven, with one room too cold and the other too warm, and using the remote didn’t fix it. There was no kettle, tea, or coffee in the room, which seem like basic amenities. Parking isn’t provided; you have to leave the car a seven- to eight-minute walk away, for €8 per 24 hours.

We stayed for a week and really enjoyed the accommodating staff, the striking new design, and the location right in the middle of everything. A few things were missing, though. The very cool-looking lockers were extremely uncomfortable to use instead of a wardrobe. There was no ventilation or air conditioning, which I felt was needed in summer, and no fans when we asked. We had to keep the door open, letting in noise from the square. The bars and restaurants below were annoying late at night, and trucks making deliveries at 7 am every day were a problem very early in the morning. A kettle for tea or coffee would have been useful, as would a washing machine for guests. Thanks for the stay!

This is only a review of the “sky suite”; I don’t know what the single rooms are like. It’s a large, clean apartment-style space at the very top of the hotel, with an elevator up and then one flight of stairs after the entrance. There’s a separate bedroom, while the other bed is in the shared area with the dining table, couches, and small kitchen. The balcony overlooks the water, and the central location is great. The toilet is separate from the sink and shower. The suite works well for four people or two couples who know each other well. The shower is modern and clean, but its glass walls are completely see-through, even though some sections have a print. There’s no air conditioning, as in most European hotels, but sleeping with the windows open was fine for us, even during a heat wave. Breakfast was great, with tables on a terrace overlooking the Lake, and you can order extra breakfast items from the kitchen. The staff were very friendly.
