The breakfast was poor, the staff awful, and the view from our room was of walls. I’d booked an almost top-priced room with a lake view for my vacation, and the pictures show what that “lake view” looked like. Compare them with what the hotel offers when you make a reservation. I asked to change rooms since they had six more available for my dates, but they said, “No, you got what you booked.” The hotel’s “beach” is about 1 km away, not the 400 m they advertise. It’s tiny, about 2 m wide, with room for only two sunbeds side by side if you want to see the lake. This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in Austria.

The lake spot was lovely and nearly empty when we went, though it takes about a 10-minute walk to reach. Bring water shoes. Breakfast was surprisingly solid for such a small place. The bed, though, was the main problem: the mattresses were thin and uncomfortable, and the sheets were too small, so they kept slipping underneath me while I slept. The owners should consider proper modern mattresses and fitted sheets.

The room was clean, and the staff were friendly. The location is handy, though the hotel isn't right in front of the lake as the Booking.com photos led me to expect. I didn't feel comfortable in the room: it had no ordinary windows, old furniture, and the washbasin was in the room. Wi-Fi was poor or unavailable on some days, and construction started at 6 a.m., so bring earplugs and a sleep mask. Breakfast was just okay. We preferred Kaffewerkstatt, which had more choices for about the same price. I'd have rather paid extra for a better room.

Rosi was such a friendly, helpful host, and we had a great time. We stayed five nights to explore the area. The accommodation is at the edge of town, with the town and lake both within walking distance. The rooms were fine, cleaned daily, with comfortable beds and plenty of hot water.
