Brunnerhof

The room shown on the website had a sofa and a small dining area, and looked much more comfortable than what we got. Our room had a double bed tucked into an alcove, with just 30 cm on each side, so we had to climb out at the foot. There was also a small table with two chairs against the wall, a wardrobe, and a sideboard with a TV that didn’t work. The internet stopped working at 9:45 PM, and nobody cleaned the room during our seven days there.

I still haven’t received my deposit back, even though the cancellation notice said I would, of course, get it back after my apartment booking was cancelled because of renovations. When I went to the Brunnerhof on July 24, 2022 to ask about it, there was no sign of the Draxl family, and the apartments didn’t appear to be under renovation. Double bookings seem to happen often too, leaving guests without a room. The Draxl family, or Markus Draxl, still haven’t returned my deposit.

The playground and playroom were a hit with our four-year-old, and she absolutely adored Lejla, the dog who lives there. We stayed at the Brunnerhof with her for the first time and were completely happy with the visit. It was clean, breakfast was delicious, and the hosts were so friendly. They served fresh eggs from their own chickens, which you can visit behind the house. We’ll definitely book again and are already looking forward to it :-)

The only real problem was the busy main road and the noise from it. The bypass was due to be completed in autumn 2018, which would almost certainly take care of that issue. Otherwise, the owners were very friendly, helpful, and easy to deal with, and we’d happily come back. It’s a great base in town for hikes, mountain bike rides, or walks along the Isar River, with restaurants close by. The guesthouse is simple and clean: rooms are spacious and a bit dated, but perfectly adequate, and the breakfast buffet is basic but has what you need. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.
