The owners at Abelhof were so kind and made me feel at home from the minute I arrived. After five wonderful nights, I was almost sorry to leave them and head back to my family in Italy. There's loads here for families, including a great playground for kids and a range of friendly animals. The spa is fully equipped too, perfect for unwinding. Abelhof is also in a handy spot, just 20 meters from the bus stop, so getting out to explore the beautiful town of Schladming was easy. I loved this charming place and can't recommend it enough.

The modern wellness area was great, and breakfast was simple but good. We had a good stay at this family oriented hotel, with very clean, comfortable rooms. They aren't well soundproofed, though, and we heard a lot of noise from the neighboring room, where kids were up at night. There were also many children in the sauna and showers, despite a sign saying no kids under 15 were allowed. When we arrived, we didn't get much explanation about the rooms or hotel. A few days in, that became a nuisance when we ran out of toilet paper and towels and didn't know what to do. All in all, a great place to stay.

The hosts are friendly and accommodating, and the guesthouse is clean and tidy. When there isn't enough snow for ski-in/ski-out, they drive guests to the nearest lift twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon. That's fantastic. Dinner has a limited menu, and our children unfortunately don't care for the options, though that's probably more their issue than Abelhof's 😅. There's also a different dish each day that you can order in the morning, and it's always incredibly delicious.

We've already booked for next year, right here during our second stay at Abelhof with our daughter. We love it! The Stocker family are very friendly and welcoming, and the views are indescribably beautiful. We've tried two different apartments so far and were happy with both. The indoor and outdoor playgrounds are fantastic for children. The many animals are a highlight, especially the rabbit hutch, which you can visit anytime. It's a perfect spot for a relaxing mountain holiday with wonderful views and animals all around.
