Das Chalet

The view of Schladming and the surrounding mountains from this lovely little chalet is fantastic. It has two apartments, and the house is very well built. We slept well on the beds and linens, found the sauna easy to use, and appreciated the midweek towel change. There were high-quality bathrobes and toiletries, enough toilet paper and tissues, plus dish soap, coffee cups, tea, salt, pepper, and sugar. Parking under the carport was convenient, and the fireplace came with firewood and handy firelighters. The location and view are also very good. At over €3000 a week, though, we expected more from some of the furnishings. A cupboard in the living room was warped, and the kitchen and extractor hood were quite basic. The filter needs cleaning urgently. For anyone hoping to cook proper meals, the kitchen needs better equipment, including a pan, knives, cutting boards, suitable and sufficient dishes, and a toaster. The shower over the bathtub in the second bathroom was awkward to use, and charging €5 per wash for the washing machine seems unreasonable at this weekly price. The build quality is high, but some of the furnishings don’t match it, so the value for money didn’t feel right to us. That’s why we can only give three stars. When booking, check the floor plans carefully. Apartment I (Garden) has a sauna with a window and mountain views. Apartment II (Ground Floor) has a terrace, a balcony, and an indoor sauna.
