Avoid room 108, or better yet, don’t stay here. All day, fumes from frying in the kitchen drift into the room, and the hotel can’t or won’t do anything about it. The owner seems to care only about profit and not at all about guests’ comfort. He arrogantly refused to discuss the problem with polite guests under 18, told me not to be rude to him, and said to leave if I didn’t like the accommodation. I’m sorry, but his tone was ignorant and unacceptable in response to a simple request for a discount of a few euros because of the awful fumes and the kitchen light shining into the room. You know what? I’d gladly leave if it weren’t for the astronomically high prices, apparently driven by his desire to feel like “I’m the richest arrogant boss, you subordinate.” Shame on you and the hotel.

After a long day skiing, we loved the sauna and the quiet evenings. The hotel is beautiful and high up the mountain, so it’s ideal for getting fresh tracks first thing. Staff were friendly and attentive, and dinner had good choices each night. The buffet breakfast was lovely and covered all dietary requirements. A tip for winter: definitely bring snow chains, because the road up isn’t gritted. If you’re a family with older children, I’d go for the bigger six-person room. It’s a quiet place, so not right for anyone looking for noisy ski bars. Thanks to all the staff. I’d recommend it to friends and look forward to coming back.

You can head right out to the slopes and get onto fresh snow before the crowds. The rooms have been newly refurbished, and breakfast and dinner service were great. There’s a sauna and steam room, plus really good lunch served to the public and a terrace in the midday sun. The staff are always friendly, though sometimes a little busy because the place is so popular.

If you’re skiing or snowboarding at Schladming Plani and wondering where to eat, this is the spot. I was so hungry I didn’t get a picture of the perfect burger, but you can see the really delicious Brownieee! The service was good, and there’s always a place by the windows or balcony for lunch or drinks. The choices worked well for meat lovers as well as vegetarians and vegans. We went as a group of 10 and tried everything we could. You won’t regret taking a one- or two-hour lunch break here. It’s easy to get to on foot, by ski or snowboard, and even by car if you fancy it.
