The staff were friendly and attentive, and even the owner came over to check how we were doing and whether everything met our standards. We went for a birthday dinner and enjoyed the fine menu, which had a good range of choices for omnivores and vegetarians, with some vegan options too. Austrian classics get the occasional modern twist, like Backhendlsalat with mungo beans. Pro hint: reserve a table for dinner. Otherwise, arrive well before 6 PM, when the day menu is enough for a solid supper 👌🏻🥂🥕

Petra Brunner owns and manages this modern, tastefully designed boutique hotel, where guests receive personal attention. It’s right in the center of Schladming, just 200-300m from the main Gondola. The crew are kind and patient, and the breakfast is excellent. I ski at famous resorts around Europe on four vacations a year, and I highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed five nights with my 9 year-old daughter, and we’ll be back next year. The hotel is lovely, modern, and very clean, and the food is lovely too. The rooms have no AC or mini fridge, and you can’t control how hot or cold they get. Opening the windows was necessary, but the street was too noisy. The hotel internet didn’t work. I told the staff a couple of times, and they said it was fixed, but it still wasn’t, so after two days I gave up. There was also a dirty cleaning towel left on our bed. At checkout, they asked us to pay a restaurant bill we’d already settled after dinner. They couldn’t explain what the charge was for, so we paid just to get it over with. Breakfast was below average for the hotel price, and the dishes were all gone 30 minutes after breakfast started with no refills. One of the worst stays I’ve had in a long time.
