This traditional, family-run hotel felt like a place where the staff and owners really cared about both the guests and the hotel. It’s a great fit for a ski holiday. Our room was warm, clean, comfortable and spacious, with everything we needed for a week of skiing. Nothing fancy, and the big balcony would probably be lovely in warmer weather, unlike at -13°C. The food was pretty good. Breakfast was a generous buffet with all the expected choices, and we ate dinner there each night as part of our half-board stay. Not every dish was amazing, but there was plenty to choose from and the serving staff were lovely. The pool and sauna area is modern and excellent. Just be aware that the main sauna is adults-only and clothing-free, as is common in Austria. The ski room is spacious, with heated boot holders, two assigned to each room. A note about the lifts in Schruns: Hochjoch Bahn is closest, but it’s an aging cable car. If there’s any queue, taking the frequent bus for about five minutes to the Zamang Bahn gondola is probably quicker. The lines at Hochjoch moved incredibly slowly. Our transfer back was early, so we missed breakfast on the last day. There’s a great bakery on Bahnhofstraße, about a two-minute walk from Zimba, with good pastries and coffee. It opens at 6am.

I’ve been coming from Canada to hike at Zimba since 2016. My experiences have been amazing, and the family, staff and Montafon are simply magnificent. I’ll keep returning without hesitation, and I’m looking forward to visiting in other seasons too. Many thanks for such a splendid oasis!

The location is wonderful, and the bar and restaurant are very nice. Rooms are clean, comfortable, spacious and have a lovely balcony, though they feel a little old-fashioned. Service was excellent and friendly in most areas. I’m not sure what we did to offend the receptionist, but she didn’t seem impressed with us. Everyone else was extremely kind, especially to my mother-in-law on her birthday.

Parking is free, and the hotel is right downtown. They even let you use the showers after skiing on your last day. Breakfast has a very good buffet, although I would have liked the bacon a little more cooked. Dinner comes with a choice of regional, international or vegetarian dish each day, plus a tasty starter buffet and desserts. Nice hotel and friendly staff.

The mountain views from our room were stunning, and the facilities were exceptionally good. My partner and I had four terrific nights at Hotel Zimba. The team were attentive, professional and welcoming. Thanks for a great stay. Highly recommended.
