Landhaus Gastein

We borrowed bikes one morning and rode around the lake, and the lake itself is only a little over five minutes away on foot. When we left, we even got a lovely little gift. The breakfast was generous, with fried eggs, pastries, muesli, cold cuts, cheese, jams, salads and fresh fruit. On Sunday there was sparkling wine too. Mrs. Steiner welcomed us on the terrace in the large garden with a drink of our choice and slices of cake. Our third-floor room was spacious and lovely, with a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen-diner with a dining area, sofa and coffee table. It had two large balconies, one facing the lake and one the mountains. The kitchenette was fully equipped, with a filter coffee maker, a Tchibo machine and capsules, plus tea. The decor has a consistent style and colour, with paintings by Gutav Klimt throughout. We'd chosen the place for its location and reviews, but it was even better than expected. Nothing but praise for the Steiner family.

The location worked really well, quiet but still central, and we loved the view from our room. With the windows open in the evening you can hear a little street noise, though it didn't bother us. The country house is decorated and furnished with care, and the garden is picturesque. Our room was spotless and cleaned daily. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had everything we wanted. Our hostess was wonderfully polite and accommodating, happy to take care of every request. For us, a couple aged 29 and 27, it was a very successful stay.

We were completely happy with our stay. The hosts were lovely and welcoming, our large room was very clean and looked out over the lake, and breakfast had everything we could want. The lake and town center are both about five minutes away. Highly recommended!

The Steiner family were incredibly kind and attentive, and made sure we had everything. Our welcome was so warm that we felt at home right away. The clean room had what we needed, including a refrigerator, microwave and a couple of kitchen utensils. The breakfast buffet was amazing, almost impossible to describe.
