The location is amazing, but the place is run down and poorly maintained, and the stay wasn't worth it. The bins in both the room and bathroom stayed full for our two days. The balcony was covered in bird poo and spider webs, as if it hadn't been cleaned in months or even years. Though checkout is at 11am, staff came in around 8:30-9am and removed all the towels, pillows, blankets and bedsheets. You can find a better experience for the same price.

The location and view are excellent, and the chef is trying interesting new combinations with traditional ingredients, though the results are still so-so. What made dinner frustrating was the service. We weren't treated rudely, but the staff seemed to half-forget us, and we had to get their attention whenever we wanted another drink or needed something. The restaurant was crowded, but not exceptionally busy. For example, I asked for the wine list. The waiter came over, went to get it, then returned after 4/5 minutes. After I chose a wine, nobody came to take the order, so I had to get the waiter's attention again. The wine arrived after more waiting. Ordering one glass took 15/20 minutes, and we had to work for it. It felt like that each time we asked for anything. We paid around 135 euros for dinner for two, including 2 small beers, 1 glass of wine and 1 aperitivo, which was far too much for that experience.

I remembered the food being excellent when I was here around 7 years ago. But at our company dinner this week, it wasn't as good. I ordered seafood paella and it had no taste at all, which was really disappointing. At least the dessert was excellent, and the apple strudel was good.

We stumbled on this place by chance at the beginning of season 2024. If I'd relied on the reviews, I might have hesitated, but the experience was wonderful. Everything came together: it was clean and hospitable, the location was great, and the views of the lake, mountains, sunrise and sunset were amazing. There's a private dock for swimming, sunbathing and boating. We will most definitely return.

The lake view and nice swimming dock are the only things worth remembering. We saw the hotel as a youth hostel at an extreme price, a disgrace to Austrian hospitality. There was no care or passion, little hospitality, and guests seemed to be treated like a nuisance. Our room had no hand soap, shampoo or shower gel. The bed seemed to be from the 50s, with wooden edges that hurt. The fridge had no handle, so opening it risked hurting your fingers, and the safe was useless because it had no batteries. Our key also opened another guest room. Noisy construction started at 9am in prime season, and getting to the top floor was a challenge. The host was borderline aggressive and, at best, unfriendly. Breakfast was three levels below boarding school, with not even a slice of fresh bread or a fresh roll in the house. Restaurant service was disjointed, poor and disorganized, apart from a young female cook who tried her best. The menu was a collection of so-so dishes, some executed pretty well. The team needs guidance.
