Apart Mia

We were seven and had a great week here. Each roomy bedroom had its own bathroom and TV, and the kitchen was very well equipped. The owners were friendly and went out of their way to help. The subway stop at "Kirche" is about a five-minute walk, though you only need street shoes: experienced Serfaus visitors leave their skis and boots at the depot by the cable car.

The apartment was modern, with a properly equipped kitchen, and towels were provided. It’s in the basement of a new building, with the landlords living right above. Getting to the center takes about ten minutes on foot to the Dorfbahn at Kirche station, and the sloping approach is awkward in ski boots. Our problem was that only two of the three bedrooms with bathrooms were made available. When we raised it, the landlords wouldn’t cooperate and said we could use the other room if we paid extra. That felt completely unprofessional.

We found the owners really friendly and easy to reach, and the apartment was furnished with a lot of taste. It’s also in a great spot for getting to the ski area. I’d gladly recommend Apartment Mia, and this won’t be my last stay there.

The apartment looks modern, and the bedrooms have bathrooms with walk-in showers. We were only able to use two of the three bedrooms, though. We’d booked three, and the landlord had locked the third one. When we asked, they offered to open it for an extra fee. PLEASE?!!?!?!!? That’s where Apart Mia fell short for us. The "Thurnes" landlords should be clearer and more open about what’s included. Serfaus has plenty of nicer rooms and apartments with friendlier landlords for a relaxed holiday. Winter access is awkward. A slope is supposed to end by the house, but the next day you have to haul your gear for about ten minutes down a sloping road to the village cable car. That’s really impractical in ski boots, so you end up paying to store your equipment. The place is better located in summer than in winter, when it feels far from the gondola. You can’t wear shoes inside, so they go in the boot room by the entrance. The doors use a magnetic chip. Rolls from the local bakery are delivered to the door for €0.50 each. The compulsory cleaning fee seemed a bit high. Temperature control is only possible through the landlord, unless you open a window yourself.
