The ski bus stopped right outside the hotel and took us just one stop from the lift. On the way back it went right to the night entrance by the ski room, so we could leave the car in the large hotel parking lot. We spent two nights at Hotel Hirschen with half-board and had a wonderful holiday with really personal service. It’s a lovely family-run hotel with very spacious rooms, and all the staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and spoke German or Austrian German. That’s not always the case these days. My partner thought the main course was a bit small after skiing, perhaps because he hadn’t had a proper breakfast, despite the extensive, delicious buffet with fresh egg dishes. I’m sure he could have asked for seconds. We were a little disappointed that massages weren’t available in the evenings, but that’s a minor quibble, and we weren’t too bothered since we practically had the spa area to ourselves. An outdoor terrace or lawn area in front of the saunas would be a nice addition. It was also really convenient to buy ski passes at the hotel.
