Refugium Dolomiten

We had a really nice week here. It’s a great base for skiing, and we loved both Sillian and Drei Zinnen. The apartment is tidy, well furnished, and has a spacious bedroom and bathroom. The dining area is a little tight but worked for two adults and two kids. The sofa bed should be replaced, and a small table was missing. Since the house is beside a road, the front can get noisy.

We drove about 45 minutes to see the Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Three Peaks) in Italy, while staying overnight in Austria. The apartment was well placed for that, and the rooms felt especially cozy, with stylish furnishings and the scent of Swiss pine. Having a private sauna at such a fair price was a real bonus.

Getting to Sillian’s center, the nearby supermarkets, and the main attractions was easy from the Pusteria state road. Inside, the new apartment was spotless and comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen and a lovely wood scent. Its modern look still fits the local style, and we appreciated the welcome gift. The reception isn’t always open, but the owner was courteous and helpful. I’d recommend it.

These are lovely new apartments with everything you need, and the location makes it easy to get around. We couldn’t get a balcony or sauna because those rooms were already sold out. The sheets weren’t changed during our five nights, and I found it absurd that the hotel staff didn’t speak Italian, especially so close to the border. Still, I’d recommend it as a good alternative.
