A CASA Kristall

The views over the mountains and city skyline were beautiful, especially at dusk. Casa Kristall was clean, comfortable and well maintained, with care taken over the details. Everything worked as it should, service was efficient, and the stay was hassle-free. It also felt like good value. I had no complaints and would gladly return. Wholeheartedly recommend it.

My partner and I stayed at A Casa Kristall for a week in August 2025. We chose it through Booking.com after the photos and description impressed us, but the room we got was a real letdown. Anyone looking for friendliness, charm and coziness should think twice before booking here. The room was on the ground floor, with parked cars outside one window. A busy basement stairway was right beside it, and the balcony above blocked the view. Past the cars there was just a wall. The other window faced the garbage room and the caretaker's parking space. There was no mountain view and no terrace or balcony, despite what we’d expected from the listing. The room felt stuffy and a little musty, so we slept with the windows open. In the morning, exhaust from cars in the parking lot came straight inside and lingered. The caretaker came and went through the morning, making it hard to open the window without letting in fumes. People in the parking lot or on the basement stairs could see right into the room, so we had to keep the curtains shut for privacy and sit in the dark. We also found black hairs in the refrigerator, a broken trash can and run-down walls. On the evening we arrived late, there wasn’t even hand soap in the bathroom. We went to reception the next morning to raise the problems directly, since we’d rather try to sort things out than write a negative review afterward. The response was, “I'm sorry, I know the room, it's a real shame there's no balcony.” The hotel felt uninspired in general. If we’d known the situation clearly, we could have booked a much nicer alternative. The price wasn’t reasonable for what we received. Anyone hoping for a comfortable holiday in an idyllic Alpine setting should steer clear of A Casa Kristall. P.S. The view was a real plus, as were the clean rooms and friendly staff. The caretaker was particularly polite and helpful. Nearby construction was going on, though that wasn’t the landlord’s fault. It wasn’t too far to the shops, but the town center was quite a distance away. The place felt dated, and for the price we were a bit disappointed. Our balcony or terrace was actually the parking space, and the lot itself was very narrow. The stove didn’t work properly, the dishwasher looked so old we were afraid to use it, and a wardrobe in one room was broken. The pool and wellness area were very clean and adequate, but the pool was definitely too cold. It was okay for a week, just a bit tired overall.

The house is quiet and about 2-3 km from the town center, with a supermarket you can walk to. Our room was spotless and well equipped. The spa area is small but has what you need and a lovely view. There’s parking in the underground garage or around the house, and bread delivery can be arranged on request. I’d happily book here again.
