Appartement Arnika

The owners are warm and helpful, and we've had a lot of fun here. Pension Arnika is spacious and lovely, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a big kitchen with dining space, enough for 4 to 6 people. We're very grateful for the Ötztal Summer Card and can recommend the guesthouse.

The heating and hot water stopped working for about a day and a half during our stay. The landlords tried to fix the pellet system, but we couldn't take warm showers and had to avoid airing out the apartment so it wouldn't get cold. With our little daughter at her first ski course, that was especially inconvenient. We were also unhappy with how the problem was handled. When we asked whether the rent could be adjusted for the outage, they pointed to the terms and said their legal adviser considered compensation unnecessary. They could have arranged showers at a local hotel, but with small children on a winter holiday that wasn't very practical. We declined the bottle of Henkel Trocken they offered afterwards, as it didn't seem fair compensation for a stay costing over 250€ a day. We were in Sölden over the 2019 Christmas holidays for a week of winter sports, two adults and two children aged 1 and 4. The house is right by the ski slope, and we did enjoy our time there. In Apartment Arnika's Nederkogel apartment, the living and dining area and hallway were large, with two bathrooms and a separate toilet. There was ski and boot storage and direct access to the slopes. The bedrooms were small, the kitchen layout was a little confusing, and the seating area was cramped. We still like Sölden, as we usually do, and will visit again.

The Kneisl family were attentive and accommodating, and the furnishings felt high-end. Being right beside the Gaislachkogl downhill ski run made the location ideal. We'd be very happy to come back.

The facilities were excellent, and the location was great.
