We spent a wonderful week here on a holiday booked with TUI, and would gladly return. It's a peaceful, secluded hotel with a nice terrace and well-kept lawns, yet it's not far from the centre of St. Gilgen and only a short walk from the lake shore. This is a relatively small, family-owned place. The rooms are large and comfortable, with excellent views over the lake, mountains and vineyards. The cuisine is delicious, varied and generous, and the staff are attentive and discreet. Facilities include a swimming pool, a boat house and bathing place on the lake, a wellness centre and a well attended bar. Customer service was excellent throughout. It's a lovely base for exploring the area's hiking, cycling and swimming, as well as its history and culture.

That garden and the view across the town to the lake were lovely, and the rooms felt roomy and comfortable. We were greeted warmly, and breakfast was excellent. It’s a family owned and run hotel. I stayed with friends, and one of them said that after many years of travel, this was the first hotel where he felt he could happily stay indefinitely. It’s a good place.

The view from our room was amazing, and the spa and pool were really nice. We ate well at both breakfast and dinner. The man who checked us in was friendly and helpful, though I’m sorry I didn’t catch his name.

We hadn't planned to stay here, but the front desk staff were pleasant when we arrived and again at checkout. There were no open parking spaces, so the woman at reception let us use an employee spot. The view was stunning, and the staff were generally nice. Our room was spacious and clean, but it smelled strongly of smoke despite being designated non-smoking. We got to the restaurant late and wanted to order from the menu. The waiter persuaded us to take the buffet, saying it would be about 12 euros per person. The bill came to 69 euros. He charged $25 for one buffet, then $30 for another because my wife also took a salad from it. We could only guess that, since it was late, they didn't want us ordering from the menu and had misled us about the price. Being in another country, we weren't going to stand there and argue. I would still recommend the hotel as a place to stay.
