Falkensteiner Balance Resort Stegersbach

A quiet, nicely designed hotel, just right for a few days at the spa. The spa itself is good too.

The garden was a real highlight, peaceful and beautiful, with lovely landscaping and plenty of spots to relax between the sauna and pool. The spa was just as good, with clean, well-kept pools and saunas, fresh towels, infused water, and a range of teas. Petar’s sauna treatments made the stay especially memorable. We also enjoyed the gym, which seems to have been improved since our last visit. The equipment was excellent, and I got a great workout on the treadmill. The restaurant kept surprising us with each meal, and the kitchen and restaurant team, especially at the show kitchen, were cheerful, approachable, and very friendly. Our room was comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully designed. Reception staff were warm and helpful, and happy to answer questions. We enjoyed every moment and had a relaxing chance to recharge. Beautiful setting, great service, and a lovely place to unwind. We’d definitely recommend it.

I’d stayed with the Falkensteiner Hotel chain before and had been happy with it. At this hotel, the service felt below average. I was pleased at first because they followed my bedding requests, but then found that the receptionists and concierge didn’t speak English at an acceptable level. I’ve never run into that at a five-star hotel before, though it’s a minor issue. The bigger problem was housekeeping: nobody came to clean, even when I left a “please clean my room” sign on the door.

The room looked out over the surrounding area and the organic garden, and the hotel itself is in a lovely spot. It was peaceful and quiet, with excellent food that felt like a real culinary treat. Staff were pleasant, kind, and always smiling, and glad to help with whatever you might ask. I’d definitely recommend it!
