The lake was the big draw, with access by fine gravel paths or a jetty. We took out a rowboat and a stand-up paddleboard and enjoyed the quiet out on the water. The garden was well kept, with a sandbox and slide for my young grandson, and a big lawn where we could run around and borrow sports gear. We even took the available bikes for a short ride to the nearby nature park. Inside, the six-person apartment was very clean and well equipped. The kitchen was small, but the big dishwasher got constant use, and there was plenty of crockery and glassware. In the common room, drinks were easy to get and payment was reliable. We booked it to bring our scattered family together for a birthday, and it worked out wonderfully. Many thanks to our lovely hosts, I’d highly recommend the house. 😄

There’s a lot to do without needing a car. The train station, the boat stop and a larger beach area at the campsite are within a 20-minute walk, and the Erlebniscard you get on arrival makes most public transport free. Free bike rentals are available at the Seeapartments, though don’t expect much from them. They’re more than enough for a ride to the next town. A holiday here can also be made more worthwhile with the Carinthia Card, which gives free access to many nearby attractions, including mountain railways such as Gerlitzen, boat trips, Landskron Castle with its monkey mountain and air show, and a museum. We were impressed by how friendly and helpful the owners were, and by the warm, hospitable way they treated us. They were on hand if we needed anything, even a lighter or paper towels. The apartments have Wi-Fi, small kitchens suited to self-catering, and functional rooms. You probably won’t spend all your holiday indoors, though. You can eat on the balcony or terrace, relax on loungers on the big lawn, or let children use the sandbox, swing and large trampoline. There are ping-pong tables and playground gear for badminton, volleyball and more, all free. In the evening, you can barbecue with the two kettle grills, and charcoal, firelighters and aluminum bowls are provided. The separate room called "Treff" has inexpensive drinks, including freshly tapped beer, and board games to borrow. The lake access is narrow, but direct, so we could swim whenever we wanted, even before breakfast. A rowboat and several stand-up paddleboards are available to rent, which surprised us because rentals elsewhere can cost a hefty extra amount. The little kitchens work well for making your own meals. Some apartments are quite close to the road and railway. It didn’t bother us much, but if noise is a big issue, you could ask whether there’s a unit nearer the lake. Overall, the prices are really reasonable for what’s available, and the value for money is very good. We left happy and would gladly return.

The bungalows were spotless, and the garden was well looked after. It’s an ideal spot right by the lake, with very friendly hosts who were always available and had good tips. We’ll definitely return.

The grounds were good, the place was clean, and the hosts were nice. Still, the sparse, very basic furnishings and bare walls didn’t make the apartment very comfortable. There was drywall almost everywhere, so sound carried badly, including from neighboring apartments.
