The house sits on a quiet street across from the river, with only four other houses nearby, so there’s no need to worry about noisy neighbours. The town centre and nearest supermarket are just a few minutes away by car. Zell Am Zee and Bischofshofen are about a half-hour drive, and Salzburg is around an hour away. The surroundings are stunning and peaceful, and the house itself is a wonderful place to spend a few days. It was spotless and smelled fresh, and it’s stocked with just about everything you could think of: dish soap, tea towels, bathroom towels, made beds, coffee and filters, a toaster, sponges and barbecue coals. Really, just bring your clothes and a good mood. There’s even a well just outside the front door, with fresh water in a stone basin. On Christine’s recommendation, we put our soda, wine and beer bottles in it, and it worked even better than the fridge. Such a fun feature. Christine also provided a little gate for our dog and a blanket for the sofa without us asking, which helped make our holiday relaxed and worry-free. If you have a question or need something, she’s only a phone call or email away, and she gave us loads of tips for places to visit nearby. One of the friendliest and best owners we’ve rented a holiday home from.

A quiet spot with a nice house, a fireplace inside and plenty of great ski areas within 10-35 km.

A really nice place in a lovely neighbourhood, with modern conveniences.

We had a wonderful time in this holiday home. The house was spotless and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. After a day on the slopes, the fireplace and sauna were heavenly. The hostess was welcoming, and the house was furnished beautifully. We felt very comfortable and would love to return. Happy New Year to you and your family! Wishing you good health, happiness, success, and plenty of wonderful moments. Thank you for your hospitality!

We spent five days at the Christine holiday home during the German autumn school holidays. It was easy to reach from Germany via the B311 without tolls. We still bought the standard 10-day Austrian toll pass online, with no 18-day waiting period, so we’d be covered for short trips around the area. It’s an older, detached, two-story house in the typical local style, with two double bedrooms and a third bedroom with bunk beds that’s ideal for children. There are two shower rooms with toilets, a spacious living and dining area, and a wide, north-facing balcony upstairs that’s great for stargazing. The property is on the north side of a range of hills. The outdoor area is practical and very well kept, thanks to Mr. Nazar. There’s a terrace with seating and a built-in barbecue for pleasant evenings when the weather’s good. Inside, the house has everything you might need, including a washing machine, cleaning supplies and a vacuum cleaner. There’s a fireplace in the living area, with plenty of firewood. One suggestion for the owners: a fire extinguisher might be useful for anyone who’s not experienced with fireplaces. Taxenbach has the essentials for everyday needs, including a BILLA supermarket, two bakeries, a butcher and gas stations. There are restaurants for dinner, but we mostly cooked in the well-equipped kitchen, which also has a dishwasher. The personal welcome meant a lot to us. We were greeted warmly when we arrived, not just sent a WhatsApp message, and the owners checked in during our stay. They also made a point of saying goodbye in person when we left. That’s how it should be. Thank you, Ms. Nazar. From the guesthouse, it’s easy to plan day trips in every direction, whether to the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, gorges, Kitzsteinhorn, Kaprun, Zell am See or Salzburg. Our tip, if self-promotion is allowed: Moosalm Adamhütte is well worth a day trip. The service and food were great, and the view was fantastic. You can only reach the hut on foot from the village of Brandenau, which takes about 1.5 hours. We felt very comfortable and are grateful for the hospitality and the wonderful property.
