Landhaus Penz

The owners stopped by once or twice a day to check that everything was still okay, and they could suggest nice outings. They only speak German, not English. We stayed in the top apartment, which was spacious, clean, and had lovely views in every direction. The beds were made and towels provided. The kitchen could be better: there’s no extractor hood, and the ceiling is very low because it sits under the sloping roof. Bring your own herbs, soap, and shampoo. They provided salt, pepper, and dish soap with a brush and sponge.

We were especially taken with the elderly owners, as well as the apartment and the location. The rooms were spacious, and the grounds were beautifully landscaped and well kept, with a terrace and stunning views across the valley to Serles mountain. The bus and train station and the small Spar supermarket by the church are all within a 10-minute walk, which makes it a great option without a car. As city dwellers, we loved being close to nature and the mountains, and found wonderful hikes nearby. We stayed at Gasthaus Penz for a week as father and daughter, and wholeheartedly recommend it.

We’ve only been here an hour, but the apartment already seems perfect. The local contact is really friendly too. Feels like it’s going to be a fantastic vacation!

This is our 8th holiday here, and we still have no reason to complain. Finding the car park entrance can be difficult in heavy traffic, though.
