Falkensteiner Family Hotel Montafon - The Leading Hotels of the World

There’s plenty for children to do, and adults can relax too. The hotel is very clean, the food is brilliant, and the staff are some of the friendliest and loveliest we’ve met. The location is beautiful. We stayed in December 2025 and enjoyed it so much that we returned in January 2026. We’ll book again.

This was our family’s third visit to Falkensteiner in Montafon, last June, and we’ve been very happy each time. The children had great activities, the service was outstanding, and the food was consistently excellent with lots of choice. I always forget what being hungry feels like there because I can never eat just a little 😅 Our rooms have always been clean and the nights quiet, which lets us relax and enjoy everything the hotel offers. A special thank you to the restaurant team members we’ve met, some on earlier stays: Flávia, Franco, Brian, Diana, Kevin, Hülkiye, Alana, Handoyo, Nikola, Dragana and Augustina. They made this visit so enjoyable again. Hope we see you all soon!

Our 2.5-year-old absolutely loved Falky, the pool, disco, climbing wall, and the 0-3 play area. The Falky team were lovely with the children, and Jessica was especially warm and professional with our daughter. Our family suite had beautiful views, housekeeping kept it immaculate and stocked with water and fresh towels, and the whole hotel was very clean. The adults-only spa itself was lovely, with good saunas and a steam room. We had a good time largely because our daughter was so happy, but noise and supervision were recurring problems. Some children ran around and behaved badly without parents stepping in. I saw two girls around 11 hit a Falky team member on the head with pillows; they ignored the request to stop, and the staff member seemed unsure how to manage it. That kind of disrespect shouldn’t be allowed to continue. The adults-only spa’s quiet room was also used by families with small children several times, even though that’s against the rules. No team member intervened, so there wasn’t a reliably quiet spot for adults. The food was freshly made, acceptable, and there was plenty of choice, but it didn’t meet our expectations for a 5-star buffet. Children grabbed food and behaved inappropriately without supervision. Meat choices were limited, without quality cuts like entrecôte or filet, and the kids’ food leaned heavily on junk food such as fries and nuggets, disappointing at a health-focused family resort. Gluten-free choices were a bit limited, though I found something at every meal. At checkout, the Falky toys were in clear view of the children, which made buying one feel almost unavoidable. Charging 25 euros for what was effectively promotional merchandise felt in poor taste. With the noise, supervision and dining issues, the value for money didn’t feel balanced for our family.

The meals were a highlight: fresh, delicious, and varied, with friendly, professional restaurant staff and chefs. Breakfast is 7:30-10:00 am, lunch 2:00-4:00 pm, and dinner 6:30-9:00 pm. We also enjoyed the spa, sauna, massage, and lovely pool, where children can relax with you. We were warmly welcomed on arrival, and someone helped with our luggage and waited patiently while we checked in. Ms.Mia and the reception team were professional, friendly, and careful in answering our questions. We weren’t happy with our first room’s view, but after a short wait they arranged another room overlooking green mountains and the pool. That was a kind gesture. The setting beside the water dam is amazing, with lots to do nearby. It’s easy to walk to activities such as the cable car. We visited in summer and had a great time; I imagine winter is even more magical for skiing. The hotel is especially suited to families. I was there with my husband, and the many children made it lively and somewhat noisy, as expected in a place built for them. I’d still have liked a quiet adults-only corner for relaxing and reflecting. Housekeeping was the one part that disappointed me. We asked for an early morning room clean and went out, but they didn’t arrive until after noon, which was inconvenient because we wanted to rest in the room when we returned. Thanks to the team for clearly working hard to make guests’ stays feel special.
